Together with ART 2030, Christian Falsnaes has created a campaign video for the UN Global Goals, entitled GOALS.

GOALS shows collective choreographies led by the artist from the streets of Berlin to the annual Danish political gathering Folkemødet in Bornholm, Denmark.

It encourages viewers to reflect on how, when, and where change can occur. How does one mobilize a collective towards common goals?

The 17 Global Goals tackle the most important global issues by highlighting how these areas are interconnected. To achieve equality, environmental sustainability, peace and justice, we need action to eradicate poverty and hunger, to secure good worldwide health, and to guarantee quality education.

Followed by a camera team, Falsnaes instructs large crowds in Berlin and Folkemødet to stage protests, proclamations and celebrations in order to give a voice to the United Nations 2030 Agenda SDG’s and its 17 Global Goals. By juxtaposing the Global Goals with images of group performances and collective action, GOALS presents a utopian public movement for the Goals, whilst bringing to attention the imbalance between words and actions towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

The first public video shoot for GOALS took place at the opening ceremony of Folkemødet, Bornholm, June 2019.
